Guides are general information

The guides and pages here explain hot water cylinder problems in general terms. They do not replace an engineer’s assessment of your cylinder, and a symptom described on a page may have a different cause in your home. Do not open, drain or adjust pressure and safety devices on an unvented cylinder yourself.

Safety comes first

If you smell gas, ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before anything else. If an unvented cylinder is discharging steam or very hot water, turn off the heat source, keep clear and call an engineer. An enquiry form is not an emergency service.

Prices and quotes

The fixed prices on the pricing page apply to the jobs they describe, and no VAT is charged. The cylinder itself is priced separately. Any other cost figure in a guide is a typical UK market range, not our price.

Work on a cylinder

Terms for any cylinder work, including payment, cancellation and complaints, are not set out on this page yet and will be agreed with you before a job is accepted. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here.
